In compliance with Drug and Cosmetic Act and Rules 1940 & 1945, we don't process requests for Schedule X and any other habit-forming drugs. For Schedule H and H1 drugs you need to upload a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner.
A prescription is a detailed instruction written by a registered medical practitioner (Doctor) that authorizes a patient to be recomended with a medicine or treatment.
It is an important document for establishing a diagnosis, starting the treatment, monitoring the recovery and determining future treatment path of the patient. Hence, it is very important that you understand what all constitutes a valid prescription.
As per Indian Medical Laws a valid prescription should contain the following information :
- Name, qualification, address and registration number of the doctor.
- Name, age and gender of the patient.
- Date of consultation.
- Name of the Medicines prescribed (Medicine name and strength).
- Directions for use including dosage, frequency and duration.
- Doctor’s signature.
Note - Make sure that your doctor has written the medicines name clearly and the duration for which they are to be taken. In case the patient needs to take the medicine for a long period of time, it should be mentioned that a refill can be issued using the same prescription for up to a specified duration.
